Integration & Acceptable Use
How ShoMate connects to your accounts, and the obligations that come with it.
This Platform Compliance & Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) describes how ShoMate integrates with third-party social media platforms and sets out the obligations you accept as a condition of connecting your accounts. This Policy supplements, and is incorporated into, our Terms of Service.
ShoMate connects to Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X, TikTok, and YouTube exclusively through each platform’s official, publicly documented APIs and OAuth authorization flows. ShoMate does not, and will never:
If a platform restricts, deprecates, or removes an API capability ShoMate relies on, the corresponding ShoMate feature may become unavailable without prior notice, through no fault of ShoMate.
By connecting a social media account, you confirm that you own or are duly authorized to manage that account, and you grant ShoMate permission to act on it strictly as configured by you (e.g., publishing scheduled posts, retrieving analytics, responding to inquiries).
You remain the account holder of record on each platform, and you are solely responsible for ensuring your account, and the content published to it, complies with that platform’s Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Advertising Policies, and any other applicable platform policy. ShoMate is a tool, not a co-owner of your social accounts. Actions taken by ShoMate are taken at your direction and configuration (e.g., content you upload, captions you approve, schedules you set).
Each connected platform imposes limits on publishing, messaging, comments, likes, reads, and analytics requests. ShoMate is designed to:
ShoMate will never knowingly or intentionally exceed a platform’s API usage limits on your behalf. If a platform temporarily throttles or rejects a request due to your account’s own usage history, prior violations, or platform-side restrictions unrelated to ShoMate’s behavior, ShoMate is not responsible for the resulting delay or failure.
Social media platforms independently reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or permanently ban any account for any reason, at their sole discretion, including for reasons unrelated to ShoMate. ShoMate does not control, influence, or guarantee the decisions of Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X, TikTok, YouTube, or any other platform, and is not liable for any warning, restriction, suspension, shadow-ban, demonetization, or permanent ban applied to your account by a platform, regardless of whether it followed use of ShoMate.
If your account is restricted or banned, please contact the platform directly; ShoMate is not able to reinstate, appeal, or otherwise intervene in a platform’s enforcement decisions.
You agree not to use ShoMate to publish, schedule, or send content that:
ShoMate reserves the right to suspend features or disconnect an account where we reasonably believe it is being used in a manner described above, in order to protect the integrity of our platform integrations and other customers.
The AI Inbox Assistant responds to customer messages using template-based logic and business information you configure. You are responsible for ensuring the business information you provide (address, hours, delivery areas, pricing statements, etc.) is accurate. ShoMate is not liable for customer disputes arising from outdated or inaccurate information you configured, or from a customer’s misinterpretation of a template response.
ShoMate does not integrate with, automate, or send messages via WhatsApp in this version of the product. Any WhatsApp contact details included in AI-generated responses are informational only (e.g., directing a customer to contact you directly); no message is sent, received, or automated by ShoMate on WhatsApp.
Third-party platforms may modify, restrict, or discontinue API access, features, or policies at any time and without notice to ShoMate. ShoMate will make reasonable efforts to adapt its integrations to such changes but does not guarantee continuity of any specific feature tied to a third-party API, and disclaims liability for any resulting service interruption.
If you become aware of a change to a connected platform’s policies that you believe affects your use of ShoMate, or if you experience unexpected account restrictions you believe may relate to ShoMate’s integration, please contact us promptly at compliance@shomate.dev so we can investigate.
This Policy is incorporated into and should be read together with the ShoMate Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. In the event of a conflict, the Terms of Service govern.
This document is a template intended as a starting point and does not constitute legal advice. Each connected platform’s developer terms (Meta Platform Terms, TikTok Developer Agreement, YouTube API Services Terms, X API Terms, etc.) impose their own specific obligations on ShoMate as a developer; this Policy should be reviewed alongside those agreements and by a licensed attorney before publication.
